My parents were Tom Curley and Lily Pavey - Godfather was George Pitcher (film producer - search for "Day of the Triffids" and "Lancelot and Guinevere"), Godmother - unsure...

They were born:

Tom Curley - ?October 18?, 1908 - either in Ireland somewhere, or possibly Aldershot

Lily Pavey - October 2, 1907 - in Stepney, London

They lived at:

81, Cecil Rd, Acton, London (1940 to 1948).

71, Hurstfield Crescent, Hayes, Middx (1948 to 1955).

95, North Hyde Rd, Hayes, Middx (1955 to 1965).

131, Tilehouse Way, Denham, Bucks (1965 to 1990’s)

They died:

Tom Curley in the house at 95 North Hyde Rd. Hayes, winter 1960, from pneumonia (which brought on)  heart problems

Lily Curley in the Old People’s home near Tilehouse Way, Denham, Bucks, 16:15 on 4 May, 1991 - registered death at Gerrards Cross. Well done Mum - a very peaceful and quiet exit........

Their Parents were:

Father's side – were Irish (he was Racehorse Trainer) - Curley (Hayes, Middlesex), died Mr Curley about 1948/49 in Hayes, Middx, Mrs Curley about 1955 Ruislip, Middx.

Mother's side - were English, lived in Stepney, London - both died before 1943 - Pavey was their name

Known relatives on Father's side:

Auntie Pat (Father's sister (Pat Curley) – she was a Buyer at Fenwicks in Bond St)), Pat married a guy who got killed at Monte Casino during WW2, then married Norman Mack, they lived in Baron's Court. She died around 1965 in Baron's Court, London - no idea where Norman Mack went to, but I think he worked for a Company called Cold Fusion.

Auntie May (Father's sister (May Flower) she worked in film industry at Shepperton, Elstree, Pinewood etc.. studios),  May married Jack Flower and they lived in Ruislip - they had a Carpet Shop right opposite Ruislip Manor Tube station (and they lived above the shop) - they had daughter (Angela Flower who married Ken and they had ?2? kids), and son John Flower, film cameraman. May died around 1967, Jack died around 1969.

Auntie Eileen (Father's sister, she was a Nun - at Hertingfordbury Convent - Herts). Never heard when she died.

My Godfather – Uncle George Pitcher – Film Producer in 1950/60’s – worked on Red Shoes, The Day of the Triffids, Cleopatra etc.. lived in Northwood Hills  

 Known relatives on Mother's side:

Auntie Flo (Mother's sister - married John Olney had son Peter Olney, lived 19, Laurel Ave, Wickford, Essex - Peter worked at The Times newspaper as a "Reader"), Flo (Florence) died around 1975 in Wickford, John around 1977, also Wickford

Auntie Kate (Mother's sister - married Non (don't know what it stands for and don't know his surname)  no kids, lived Clapham, London), Kate died around 1973, Non around 1978

Uncle Bert (Mother's brother - married Nell Pavey, had son Don Pavey, they lived Carshalton), Don (Pavey) married Nin Tafferelli had 2 or 3 kids, living Harlow, Essex – Don & Nin ran some sort of Social Club in Harlow. Bert died around mid 70's as did Nell

 Those likely to be still around as at 2001:

Angela/Ken and kids – but don’t know their surname – lived south west of London - ?Basingstoke?

John Flower – lost contact with him 1962 – he was around Ruislip

Peter Olney – bumped into him in a pub in South London in 1970’s – The Times may have contact point for him – Pension.

Don and Nin Pavey in Harlow – and their kids. I know Granny was contacted by one of the kids (was her name Julie?). I last saw them when I had the punchy red beetle – about 1966

Parents were Mr & Mrs Pavey – lived Stepney, London, Church of England

Kids were - Lily, Florence, Kate, Bert

Lily Pavey married Tom Curley – one son - Michael

Michael Curley married Almuth Brosch – 2 daughters – Britta & Inga (WHOOOAAA!!)

Florence Pavey married John Olney – one son – Peter – didn’t marry

Kate Pavey married Non ?? – no kids

Bert Pavey married Nell ?? – one son - Don

Don Pavey married Nin Tafferelli - ?3? daughters? – Julie, ?,?

 

 

Father’s Side

Parents were Mr & Mrs Curley – born Ireland – County Kerry?? Catholic

Kids were – Thomas, Pat, Eileen, May

Tom married Lily Pavey – see above

Pat married Norman Mack – no kids

Eileen became a nun - last seen at Hertingfordbury Convent around 1961

May married Jack Flower – son John (may not have married), daughter Angela

Angela Flower married Ken ? - ?2? daughters?
